purged display series of industrial operator interface workstations
and computer systems allow for the placement of totally enclosed
computers into hazloc areas classified as hazardous (explosive
or flammable). Intrinsically safe, this purging (pressurization)
approach ensures that there will always be a continuous clean air-flow
out of the enclosure thereby preventing the intrusion of explosive
gasses or dust into the enclosure. These hazardous area
computers will not cause conditions that may result in
an unstable environment.

These workstations and LCD computers are equipped
with purge systems which insure intrinsic safety in areas where
flammable or explosive gasses or vapors are very likely to exists
in the air during normal operating conditions. Groups C and D use
an automatic purge while Group B requires a standard purge system.
