ULTRA Flexible Armored Glass Touch Sensors
A D Metro’s ULTRA is a glass armoured resistive
technology and is an excellent alternative to standard resistive when
durability is
an issue. ULTRA is a proven technology deployed in thousands of applications
worldwide. ULTRA is the pinnacle of resistive technology.
ULTRA is a micro-thin sheet of borosilicate glass is laminated
to the ITO polyester top sheet used in the typical construction of resistive
touch sensors. This A D Metro patented process produces a flexible glass
membrane which is scratch resistant, water proof and impervious to chemicals,
fire and stylus use. The resulting touch sensor is ideally suited to
Military, Industrial, Mobile, Public Kiosk and Medical applications.
ULTRA glass armoured configurations are available for 4, 5, and 8 wire
sensors from 2.5" to 20.1".

• Lasts longer due to the stiffer glass/polyester top layer which reduces
ITO fracturing failures including damage from stylus use;
• Reduced pillowing possibility of the top layer as glass/polyester lamination
has a closer expansion/contraction coefficient to the substrate glass;
• The glass/polyester top layer does not shatter and allows the sensor
to continue to operate even after extreme abuse such as deep scoring,
repeated impact trauma and other vandalism;
• If the substrate breaks, the broken glass shards are safely held behind
the glass/polyester top layer which will remain intact.

A D Metro - ULTRA

tecnologias de ponta, a A D Metro desenvolveu a exclusiva tecnologia
ULTRA. Essa tecnologia é uma versão aprimorada de
sensores resistivos, muito mais duráveis e resistentes.
O
ULTRA é composto por um vidro robustecido sensível à pressão,
que pode ser operado por qualquer objeto que exerça pressão
mínima de 80 gramas. Mãos, luvas pesadas, unhas,
canetas, lápis, são capazes de acionar os touchscreens
ULTRA.
Os touchscreens ULTRA não são afetados
por nenhum tipo de sujeira, o que é muito desejável
em aplicações como quiosques. Não são
afetados por gotas d’água e funcionam até mesmo
quando submersos.
Os ULTRA são inteiramente envoltos por
vidro, tornando-os impermeáveis a gases e vapor. Funcionam
mesmo quando congelados. O ULTRA foi submetido a rigorosos testes,
mostrando-se perfeito para aplicações ao ar livre
em qualquer tipo de clima ou temperaturas extremas.
O ULTRA é imune a quaisquer ataques químicos
que não afetem vidros. É resistente a impactos, e
suporta fortes pressões quando usado com backplanes temperados.
Ao contrário das tecnologias SAW ("Surface Acoustic
Wave") e Capacitivas ("Capacitive Sensors"), o ULTRA
resiste a danos na superfície sem perder funcionalidade.
Pode ser riscado com um cortador de vidro de ponta diamantada continuando
a funcionar perfeitamente.

A D Metro ULTRA CP touchscreens combine the
strength and durability of its trademark armour glass enhanced
resistive touchscreen ULTRA, with the outdoor sunlight visibility
of a circular polarizer stack, consisting of the combination
of a circular polarizer, anti-reflective armour glass coating,
1/4 wave retarder and specialized ITO film. With the use of advanced
materials engineering, A D Metro has produced the ideal touch
solution for environments requiring crystal clear visibility
with durable and tough rugged field performance. ULTRA CP carries
over all the benefits from an ULTRA touchscreen including a high
resistance to scratches and abrasions, expanded temperature operation
and storage envelope, while remaining a pressure activated technology
that can be used with stylus, gloved hand or other implement.
Additionally, ULTRA CP significantly increases the overall visibility
of a display by greatly reducing the level of reflection in all
environments, even in the brightest of sunlight.
