E OPTION - SPECIAL ENCAPSULATION
All of our hermetically sealed power modules are encapsulated to meet
or exceed the shock, acceleration, and vibration requirements of MIL-STD-810C.
Special encapsulation to enable these modules to withstand higher shock
levels of 60 g's, acceleration levels of 50 g's and vibration levels
of 30 g's is available.
ER OPTION - ENHANCED RELIABILITY
The ER Option is available on standard power supplies to enhance their
reliability. The ER option uses our standard proven circuitry coupled
with a higher level of ER components, so that we guarantee the minimum
predicted MTBF indicated in the table below. In addition, on a special
order basis, we are able to customize the power supply by incorporating
any level of ER components you designate in our field-proven circuits
to comply with specific programs or application requirements.
SPECIAL TESTING
Customers may also enhance the predicted reliability of the power supply
by designated special tests, e.g., Environmentla Stress Screening (ESS).
These include special component prescreening or testing and special environment
tests which include shock and vibration. We offer extended burn-in and
temperature cycling as described below. Please consult your nearest Abbott
sales office for complete details and prices.
TEMPERATURE CYCLING AND THERMAL SHOCK
Temperature cycling per MIL-STD-202E, method 102A and Thermal shock per
MIL-STD-202E, method 107D are standard test parameters and procedures
for this option. For other test parameters and procedures or MIL-STD
test conditions, please consult your nearest sales office.
BURN-IN
Martek Power Abbott offers two types of burn-in to meet customer's requirements:
STATIC: Eachpower supply is subjected to continuous
operation for a specific length of time at a maximum load and nominal
input voltage. During testing, the power supply is mounted on a temperature
stabilized aluminum plate. The temperature of the plate is maintained
within 10°C of the maximum operating temperature of the power supply.
The length of the burn-in may be specified by the customer.
DYNAMIC: Martek Power Abbott offers two types of dynamic
burn-in:
- The
input voltage is electronically switched ON and OFF. The ON and OFF
times can range from milliseconds to minutes.
- The
power supply is independently cycled between no load and full load.
F OPTION - EMI FILTER
This internal EMI filter provides attenuation to reduce conducted interference
on input leads for Models BA and M. With this filter, the power supply
will comply with MIL-STD-461A, Notice 3, CEO1 and CEO3 on the input
leads. The addition of this filter alters the isolation of the input
to case specification, 200 Vdc.
H OPTION MODIFIED INPUT for DC INPUT MODELS
DC INPUTS: This optionrecenters the input from the standard
range 24 to 30 Vdc on Series B, BA, BC, C, CC, S and SN. The units can
be modified to operate from any one of the other input voltage ranges
shown below. Consult the factory if input voltage changes are desired
on Model B17's.

H OPTION MODIFIED INPUT for AC INPUT MODELS
AC INPUTS: This option either recenters the input range
to accommodate specific power line characteristics or widens the input
range with, in some cases, derated output current. The various input
combinationw for the models MH, MB, M, LV, LLV, WL, WWL and WM are shown
below. This option is independent of Option -3.
